About
Kayoko Hoshi 星 佳代子
Freelance Photographer
Born and raised in a countryside of Japan, though I loved the place, I always had an urge wanting to know more about other parts of the world. Naturally, I moved to the United States at age of 18; started taking photography courses at the same time.
I began assisting photographers in San Francisco, and there I met my mentor, John M. Lund.
After moving to Hawaii, I built my skill to shoot documentary photography at La-vie Bridal, well-known for its journalistic approach to wedding photography.
My works have been published for a numbers of life style magazines, travel guide books, such as Sony magazines, Shobun-sha magazines, JTB magazines, etc.
I love traveling and though I truly love nature and its astonishing scenery, capturing tiny details of everyday life, that’s when I feel pure joy.
